When I was 14, I played one of the Urchins in “Little Shop of Horrors” at my alma mater, North Springs High School (Go Spartans!). I don’t remember which role I played, what solo I sang, but I do remember that our costumes where modeled after Marilyn Monroe (including cheap blonde wigs) and they were ATROCIOUS! I’m so glad I got a do over with one of the SICKEST casts in the business. Led by Josh Radnor & Megan Hilty, we had a blast bringing the classic to life. What a pity that it was such a short run (only 8 performances), but the opportunity to hit the stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts (a dream) in the DISTRICT, during the week of the greatest Homecoming ever, at the MECCA and my alma mater Howard University - WHAT AN AMAZING TIME!!!! And yes, I sang my whole throat loose!
